Israeli divisions over Gaza

The rift between the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his war cabinet continues to grow over Gaza and the regime’s overall policies. Benny Gantz, a key member of the cabinet, and the commander of the Israeli military’s Gaza Division have resigned. In a televised speech, Gantz said Netanyahu is preventing Israel from achieving what he called a real victory in Gaza. Gantz quit the cabinet despite pleas from Netanyahu. He had given the premier the June 8 deadline to present a plan for post-war Gaza. Brigadier General Avi Rosenfeld has also tendered his resignation citing his failure to prevent the al-Aqsa Flood Operation by the Palestinian resistance last October. Two more Israeli ministers, Gadi Eisenkot and Yehiel Moshe Tropper, also resigned after Gantz stepped down. Netanyahu and his cabinet are under intense pressure as they have failed to achieve any of their intended goals in more than eight months of genocidal war on Gaza.

US-Israeli genocide in Gaza

More civilians have fallen victim to Israeli attacks on Gaza, as the regime presses ahead with its genocidal campaign in the besieged Palestinian territory. In central Gaza, seven people lost their lives after two houses were struck in the Nuseirat refugee camp and the city of Deir al-Balah. Also in the center, four people were killed in an airstrike on the al-Maghazi refugee camp. Israeli shelling on a house in Gaza city also took the lives of six Palestinians, including women and children. Other areas, including Jabalia, witnessed fresh deadly attacks, as well. In the past 24 hours, over 280 Palestinians were killed in the besieged strip. The US-Israeli genocide in Gaza began early last October. The death toll has topped 37-thousand, most of them women and children.
