US-Israeli genocide in Gaza

It's over five months into Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza, and the regime’s indiscriminate attacks keep claiming more civilian lives. In one of the latest attacks, at least ten Palestinians were massacred and several others wounded after Israeli forces bombed two houses in Deir al-Balah in central Gaza. Most of the victims were women and children. Separately, at least two people were killed and dozens injured, some critically, when Israeli forces fired at aid seekers at Al-Nabulsi and Al-Kuwait roundabouts in Gaza City. Meanwhile, at least one civilian was killed and three others injured by Israeli bombing of a house in Jabalia, north of Gaza. The Israeli genocide has so far killed over 30,800 Palestinians, mostly women and children. Thousands of others have also went missing and are feared to be dead.

Israel starvation campaign

A UN expert says Israel is destroying Gaza's food system as part of the regime’s broader starvation campaign in its genocidal war on the blockaded territory. Michael Fakhri, the UN Special Rapporteur on the Right to Food, was addressing the Human Rights Council. He said destroying Gaza’s food system runs along with Israel’s restrictions on humanitarian aid delivery into the territory. Fakhri said Israel has mounted its starvation campaign by even targeting small-scale fishermen, destroying around 80% of Gaza's fishing sector. Meanwhile, a report by rights group ActionAid International says women in Gaza are giving birth to stillborn babies due to malnutrition and the collapse of humanitarian operations. It said many children have also died in hospitals due to malnutrition.

Biden support for Israel

The largest Muslim civil rights organization in the US, CAIR National, criticizes President Joe Biden over his stance on the genocide and the humanitarian situation in Gaza. CAIR issued a statement on its X account after Biden made his state of the union speech. It called on Biden to stop playing both firefighter and arsonist during the Gaza genocide. The organization said Biden should stop airdropping food on Gaza and simultaneously send weapons to Israel. CAIR urged the US president to secure a real ceasefire in Gaza. On Thursday, Biden spoke about humanitarian assistance in Gaza during his final state of the union speech as president. He told Congress that Israel should not use the aid as a bargaining chip.
