Gaza genocide

More than 200 days into the genocide in Gaza, more Palestinians lose their lives in Israel’s air and artillery strikes. Fresh bombardment on the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza has killed eight people. The southern cities of Khan Yunis and Rafah also witnessed new aerial raids. Israel’s genocidal campaign in Gaza has killed over 34,350 Palestinians since October 7. Most of those killed are women and children. The death toll is in addition to more than 77,000 people who have been injured. Meanwhile, relentless Israeli attacks have reduced much of the territory to the rubble. A UN official says it will take years to clear the debris caused by over 200 days of bombardment and shelling.

West Bank killings

Anti-Israel protests are gaining momentum on US campuses, as more and more university students are standing in solidarity with Palestinians. The students camped out for the second day on the George Washington University campus, despite threats that they could face temporary suspension. The students at Arizona State University also joined the wave of US campus protests against the ongoing Israeli genocide in Gaza. In the state of Illinois, hundreds of protesters marched on the University of Chicago campus. They echoed pro-Palestinian chants that have been reverberating through multiple American universities over the past days. Encampments in support of Palestine also continued at New York’s Columbia University. The education center has been an epicenter of anti-Israel protests since April 18th. In over a week, hundreds of protesters have been arrested at colleges across the US. The protesting students demand university authorities divest from companies involved in Israel’s military.

Anti-Israel protests

Israeli forces have murdered two more Palestinians during fresh raid near the occupied West Bank city of Jenin. Mustafa Abed and Ahmed Shawahna were shot dead by the occupation forces in the vicinity of the Salem checkpoint. Reports say the Israeli regime is refusing to hand over the bodies of the victims to their families. Israeli troops also raided other towns and villages across the occupied West Bank including Kafr Ain, northwest of Ramallah, Nablus and Qalqiliya. The Tel Aviv regime has intensified its attacks across the occupied territories since launching its war on Gaza in early October. Since then, 491 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank.
