The heart-wrenching incident triggered global outrage. In Iran, many took to the streets to show their solidarity with Palestinians. In fact, Iran is among the handful countries in the world wherein both the state and the nation support the Palestinian cause - despite all the difficulties on the way. But the question is, why has the Islamic Republic of Iran pursued unwaveringly pro-Palestinian policies for more than four decades? What is the rationale behind Irans attitude towards Palestine?
