Iran's achievements

President Ebrahim Raeisi says the West keeps making miscalculations about Iran and seeks to show a false image of the country’s achievements. Raeisi made the remark upon arrival in Tehran from New York where he attended the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly. The Iranian president said that on his trip he drew the world’s attention to how the Iranian nation has managed to thwart enemy plots and overcome a hybrid war in the wake of the 2022 riots. Raeisi said the centerpiece of his UN speech and meetings in New York was clarifying Iran’s position and securing national interests.

Yemen revolution anniversary

Yemen’s armed forces have held a military parade in the capital Sana’a on the anniversary of the September 2014 revolution. Various units and branches of the military took part in the parade. New advanced equipment and weapons in the army’s arsenal were also unveiled. The event was attended by high-ranking military and government officials, including President of the Supreme Political Council of Yemen Mahdi al-Mashat. The leader of Ansarullah movement, Sayyed Abdul Malik al-Houthi, also delivered a speech via video. During his speech, Houthi underscored the United States’ hostility towards the Yemeni nation.

India-Canada friction

Diplomatic tension between India and Canada keeps simmering. Now New Delhi urges Indian nationals in Canada, especially students, to exercise utmost caution. India’s foreign ministry said the security advisory was issued due to growing anti-India activities and criminal violence in Canada. The ministry urged Indian students to remain vigilant. Relations between India and Canada have soured in the wake of the killing of Canadian Sikh activist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in June. Nijjar was an advocate for an independent Sikh state to be carved out of parts of India and Pakistan. Canada’s Prime Minister has said investigations continue into allegations of involvement of Indian government agents in the murder. The Indian government of Prime Minister Modi rejects such allegations outright. India claims Canada is a quote "safe haven for terrorists".
