President Raeisi to embark on three-nation African tour to boost relations
Iranian President Ebrahim Raeisi is set to embark on an official three-leg visit to Africa in line with the country's policy of expansion of relations with friendly countries.
Heading a delegation, Raeisi will leave Tehran for Kenya, Uganda and Zimbabwe on Tuesday at the official invitation of his counterparts from the host countries in order to discuss possible avenues for the improvement of trade and political ties.
During his three-day visit, the Iranian president will hold talks with his counterparts, attend the meetings of joint high-ranking delegations, take part in press conferences and sign documents for cooperation.
He will also meet with the three countries' businessmen as well as economic actors and officials to take advantage of common economic and trade capacities.
According to IRNA, this will be the first visit by an Iranian president to Africa after 11 years which is taking place in line with the government's comprehensive foreign policy.
In line with the Iranian administration's policy of economic multilateralism, Raeisi's trip aims to enhance Iran’s presence in the $600-billion African economy.
