The Iranian flotilla arrives back in the country to a hero's welcome after a round-the-globe cruise.
Eight months ago, Iranian Navys 86th flotilla departed the southern port city of Bandar Abbas on an odyssey that took it as far as the Atlantic Ocean. To the worlds astonishment, the two-ship flotilla sailed through 65,000 kilometers of international waters and circumnavigated the globe, all amid US unprecedented sanctions and explicit threats.
The message from Tehran was clear: The Iranian Navy is too strong to be deterred by sanctions or saber-rattling.
