Biggest Latin America weapons fair opens in Rio
The Latin American Aero & Defense (LAAD) event, the biggest business weapons fair in Latin America, opens in Rio de Janeiro to bring together manufacturers and suppliers of technology for the armed forces, police, special forces, and defence and security government agencies.
Some event visitors complain about the new restrictions on access to weapons implemented by President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva's government, thereby reversing looser gun laws introduced by ex-president Jair Bolsonaro.
