Israeli regime forces have detained 16 Palestinians and injured several others in multiple raids across the occupied West Bank and al-Quds, as Tel Aviv continues its oppression across the occupied territories.

The official Palestinian news agency WAFA reported that Israeli troops broke into the Deheisheh refugee camp, located south of Bethlehem, early on a Tuesday morning.

Sources and witnesses said the heavily-armed soldiers opened live fire at Palestinians in the camp, injuring three with live bullets, one was hit in the chest and said to be in critical condition.

During the raid, the soldiers detained eight residents after storming their homes across the area.

Israeli troops also detained one person during a raid of the town of Kufr Nimeh, near Ramallah, and encircled several homes before breaking into them.  The raid sparked confrontations and scuffles during which three others were injured by Israeli army gunfire.

Two others were detained in  Beit Liqya village in the same region after raiding their family homes,

Also near Ramallah, the Tel Aviv regime forces detained a Birzeit University student at a checkpoint north of the city after holding him for several hours.

In Nablus in the north of the West Bank, undercover Israeli agents detained one person at his family home.

In East al-Quds, the regime’s forces forcibly took away two young Palestinians, and another Palestinian was detained in the city of al-Khalil in the south of the West Bank.

Similar raids were also reported in other flashpoint Palestinian towns.

The raids in different parts of the occupied territories were followed by clashes that broke out between Israeli forces and Palestinian residents at al-Aqsa mosque and the occupied East al-Quds over the past few days.

Israeli forces launch raids on various cities of the West Bank almost on a daily basis under the pretext of detaining what it calls “wanted” Palestinians. The raids usually lead to violent confrontations with residents..

Thousands of Palestinians are held in Israeli jails. Hundreds have been incarcerated under the practice of administrative detention, which allows holding Palestinian inmates in Israeli prisons without trial or charge.

Some Palestinian prisoners have even been held in administrative detention for up to eleven years.

Over the past months, Israel has ramped up attacks on Palestinian towns and cities throughout the occupied territories. As a result of these attacks, dozens of Palestinians have lost their lives and many others have been arrested.

At least 95 Palestinians have so far been killed by Israeli forces in 2023.
