Saudi Yemen war, eight years on

Eight years after Saudi Arabia launched its war on Yemen, civilians remain the biggest victim. From malnutrition to infectious diseases like cholera, people in Yemen are suffering from various plights. In fact, they’re grappling with what the United Nations has described as the world’s worst humanitarian crisis. But will this devastating war ever come to an end given the silence and inaction of the international community?

With Iran and Saudi Arabia normalizing relations, many are hoping that the years-long war on Yemen will be soon over. The United Nations has urged warring sides to grab the opportunity and move toward sustainable peace. Some have even moved one step further, saying that Tehran-Riyadh normalization could be a game-changer for the whole West Asia region.
