A comprehensive cooperation roadmap aimed at expanding bilateral relations, and seven memorandums of understanding to boost trade and cooperation in the fields of transportation, agriculture and culture were the results of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko’s two-day visit to Tehran, during which Iran and Belarus celebrated three decades of close ties.

The high-level talks included a pledge to increase bilateral trade volume to $100 million per year.

This is the third visit ever to Tehran by a Belarusian president and the first in 17 years.

Iran and Belarus enjoy strong relations, which is reflected in regular high-level meetings and various agreements signed by them. Belarusian officials describe Iran as an important partner in the region and the world.
