Tehran has hosted a conference titled General Qassem Soleimani and the New World Order.

Senior military and state officials attended the conference to discuss the role of Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani in the fight against terrorism and in the creation of a new world order.

Addressing the conference, Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi, the top military adviser to Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, said the US has made many mistakes during the past decades, one of the gravest of which was the assassination of General Soleimani in January 2020.

General Soleimani was the commander of the Quds Force of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps. The United States assassinated him along with Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, the deputy commander of Iraq’s anti-terror Popular Mobilization Units, and their companions, in a drone strike near Baghdad International Airport on January 3, 2020.

General Soleimani is well-known for dislodging Daesh terrorists in Iraq in 2017. He also spearheaded major operations in Syria that resulted in liberating key areas from Daesh control. Observers say by assassinating General Soleimani, the US tried to resurrect the terrorists. However, they call it a miscalculation which backfired on Washington, triggering the beginning of its exit from the region.

Although the assassination of General Qassem Soleimani ended his physical life, his legacy will continue forever and he will remain as a role model for all resistance and anti-terrorism currents.
