Argentina fans have flooded Doha’s Souq market and quickly taken it over with songs and celebrations on the eve of their World Cup final against France.

The celebrations started slowly and swelled as fans banged drums and waved massive flags and banners depicting their star forward Lionel Messi and legend Diego Maradona.

Known as a ‘Banderazo’ or giant flag waving, the pre-game party is a tradition for Argentina fans as they gear up for matches.

“Today is the ‘Banderazo’ (pre-game) before the match. I don’t think you all will understand it. What we Argentines do is one of a kind, one fan,” Julian Garcia said.
