Four regions of Ukraine expected to vote yes to joining Russia

PressTV, Donetsk

It is the last day of voting in four regions of Ukraine in a referendum on joining Russia. Our correspondent, Johnny miller reports from a polling station in the city of Donetsk, in the Donbas region.

A voting station in central Donetsk. While Ukraine and NATO have condemned these referendums in the strongest terms, Russia and the local authorities are pushing on regardless.

The four regions voting today will mean that Russia will effectively annex around 15% of Ukrainian territory and add four million citizens to its population. It will also, most likely mean, further military escalation in this brutal war.

It is a great day for pro-Russians in these regions. But for most Ukrainians and NATO these events remain illegal and illegitimate.
