Ukraine's Conflict Impact on Africa

The United Nations says Africa faces an “unprecedented” crisis by the military conflict in Ukraine that has led to soaring food and fuel prices.

Unilateral Western sanctions on Russia are also disrupting supplies of wheat, fertilizer and other goods, compounding the difficulties Africa already faces from climate change and the corona virus pandemic.

This week we are focusing on how the ongoing conflict in Ukraine is impacting on Africa.

The severe impact arising from the crisis in Ukraine is expected to have major implications for the livelihoods and businesses in Africa. We are asking, how are African countries mitigating this crisis?

In the second part of our program we shall get acquainted with the humanitarian activities of The Red Crescent Society of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Africa.

Our guest in the studio will be telling us how they are having a positive impact on the lives of people in Africa.
