Iran won't abandon nuclear goals in face of Israel, others’ alarmism: Nuclear chief

Mohammad Eslami, head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI)

The head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) says the Islamic Republic is not going to back down from its nuclear goals in the face of the Israeli regime and others’ alarmism.

“The Israeli regime resorts to producing fake documents, sabotage, including industrial sabotage, and terrorist operations [against Iran],” Mohammad Eslami told a press conference on Wednesday.

“These measures are neither condemned nor confronted, but are, to the contrary, [even] welcomed,” he added.

“Naturally, this is a battle between wrong and right. This battle remains in place. We too have goals here that we must pursue and not fall prey to such alarmism,” the official stated.

Over the years, the Israeli regime has assassinated at least seven Iranian nuclear scientists and conducted several sabotage operations against the Islamic Republic’s nuclear facilities.

Eslami noted how the Israeli regime’s claims regarding Iran’s nuclear work had been proven wrong in the case of one location inside the Islamic Republic.

“In one site, reference has been made to [a type of] uranium that does not exist in Iran at all,” Eslami said. “It is the Zionist regime that takes these [adversarial] measures and conducts terrorist activities and whatever [other] vexatious measure that it can [against Iran].”

Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) have been working towards resolution of the agency’s alleged concerns regarding various other locations across the country.

The agency would be working towards alleviation of its concerns regarding three more sites by June 22.

The Israeli regime’s efforts to demonize Iran’s peaceful nuclear work comes while the regime itself is estimated to have 200 to 400 nuclear warheads in its arsenal, making it the Middle East’s sole possessor of the non-conventional arms.

The occupying entity has, however, refused to either allow inspections of its military nuclear facilities or sign the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).
