CIA crime in Africa

A new book has revealed how the United States top spying organization, the Central Intelligence Agency carried out destabilization operations in Africa for decades.

The CIA not only undermined newly independent Africa countries but suppressed the freedom movement in apartheid South Africa. A tip from a CIA spy to authorities in apartheid-era South Africa led to Nelson Mandela’s arrest, beginning the leader’s 27 years behind bars. This week we are focusing on a new which discusses how the CIA undermined newly independent African countries in operations that included assassination of leaders who were opposed to Western imperialism. In the second part of our program we shall look at how Mauritius has taken a bold step to Challenging Britain’s colonial control over Chagos Islands.
