NBA: Chicago Bulls 130-122 Washington Wizards

Over the NBA, the Chicago Bulls sealed their place at the top of the Eastern Conference after overcoming the Washington Wizards 130-122 at the United Center.

It was a neck and neck contest from the onset, but the Bulls managed to take the opener 37-32, before taking the next quarter with a 2-point margin that led to their 73 to 66 advantage at the intermission. The Hosts then remained consistent and widened the gap to 12 points by beating the visitors 34-29 in the 3rd quarter.

However, the Wizards did not give up and took the final by a 4-point lead which was not enough as Chicago registered their 9th victory in a row. The Bulls will fly to Dallas to play against the Mavericks on Sunday, whereas the Wizards will travel to Orlando to line up against the Magic on the same day.

Meanwhile, the Brooklyn Nets suffered the 4th loss in their last 5 games after going down 121 to 109 against the Milwaukee Bucks at the Barclays Center.

The Bucks opened up an 8-point margin in the 1st quarter, before beating the host 31-28 in the next quarter. Therefore, they finished the 1st half 60 to 49 in their favor. The defending champions kept up the momentum even after the break by taking the 3rd quarter 38-31, extending the gap to 18 points.

Brooklyn, then showed some resilience but they could only manage to cut the gap 12 points by grabbing the final quarter. Giannis Antetokounmpo pocketed 31 points for Milwaukee, while Kevin Durant bagged 29 in the losing effort.
