French police fire tear gas at Yellow Vests in Rennes
French police have cracked down on climate activists, joined by anti-fascists and Yellow Vest protesters, to disrupt their rally in the city of Rennes.
The Ouest-France newspaper reported that French law enforcement officers used tear gas and water cannons to disperse the climate activists on Saturday.

About 1,200 demonstrators were calling for measures to tackle climate change.
The protest rally in Rennes was being held at the same time as climate marches were happening in other cities around the world.
The protesters demand tangible efforts by world leaders to reverse the detrimental impact of global warming on people's lives and livelihoods.
The marches come as over 120 world leaders have gathered in Glasgow, Scotland, to participate in the United Nations COP26 summit, which started on October 31. The talks are slated to continue for another week.
Hosting the conference on Monday, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson warned that the world is strapped to a “doomsday device.”
“It’s one minute to midnight on that Doomsday clock, and we need to act now,” Johnson warned at the opening of the UN's COP26 climate conference.
Activists are pushing the world leaders to commit to ensuring that the earth does not warm more than 1.5 degrees Celsius beyond the pre-industrial levels. It is a goal that was set in the Paris climate accord.
