Iran’s Greco-Roman wrestler Geraei earns gold in 67 KG Category

Iran’s Greco-Roman wrestlers have pocketed two more gold medals in the World Championships in the Norwegian capital Oslo.

In the 67 Kg Category, Tokyo games gold medalist, Mohammad Reza Geraei pocketed gold after defeating Nazir Abdullaev of the Russian Wrestling Federation.

Geraei took control of the contest after finishing the 1st round 1-0. The Iranian managed to widen the gap after pocketing four more points to go up 5-0. However, the Russian wrestler bagged 2 points but it was all in vain as Graei took another Gold Medal after the Olympics.

Meanwhile in the 63 kg category, Meysam Delkhani overcame Leri Abuladze of Georgia 5-4. Delkhani dominated the fight early on, finishing the 1st round 3-1.

But the Georgian grappler was the better side after the break and took a 4-3 advantage, before Delkhani found his rhythm and managed to claim two more points to earn another Gold Medal for Team Iran.

Overall Iran managed to tally four golds and two bronzes to finish the tournament as runners-up behind the Russian Wrestling Federation.
