Tokyo Olympics: Russia's Sadulaev wins freestyle 97 kg gold

In a highly anticipated fight in men’s freestyle wrestling, Russia’s Abdulrashid Sadulaev has claimed the gold medal in the 97 kilogram weight-class, after defeating his old nemesis Kyle Snyder of the USA in the final.

The 25-year-old Russian, who was the Olympic Gold Medalist in the 86 kg class at the Rio 2016 Olympics as well as a 4-time world champion, displayed some dominant wrestling, racing to a 6-nothing lead with only a minute left on the clock.

Snyder was not giving up though and tried a comeback, but could only pull back 3 points at the end as Sadulaev avenged his loss to Snyder by taking the Olympic gold. The joint bronze went to Cuba and Italy.
