Four members of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) have lost their lives in clashes with armed outlaws in Iran's southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan.

In a statement on Saturday, the IRGC Ground Force’s Quds Base announced that its forces were martyred in Gonik district, Khash County, the night before.

No further details have been released on the clashes.

IRGC base confiscates cache of arms, ammunition

Meanwhile, the IRGC’s Hamzeh Seyed al-Shohada Base said on Friday that it had discovered and seized a load of weapons and ammunition from a counterrevolutionary group in the country's northwestern province of West Azarbaijan.

It added that the outlaws sought to use the arms to carry out acts of sabotage and spread insecurity in the country, but failed to implement their vicious plans due to full intelligence of forces of the IRGC’s Hamzeh Seyed al-Shohada Base.

Back in May, the IRGC forces managed to identify and dismantle a hostile counterrevolutionary group in the country's northwestern province of East Azarbaijan.

The group, dubbed Hoboot Iran (Fall of Iran), had been seeking to bring together various anti-Iran movements against the Islamic establishment since early 2018.

It said the group was masterminded by foreign-based monarchists and funded by certain Western countries and Saudi Arabia.
