The Shuhada Day is an annual day marked every 25 of Rajab on the Islamic Calendar to remember members who were martyred in various ways during the activities of the Islamic movement.

There are currently one thousand and thirty-nine members who are martyred leaving behind four hundred and forty nines wives, and over two thousand three hundred orphans.

Taking care of the orphans is one of the major challenges of the foundation. Officials of the foundation said every year the number of martyrs keeps increasing in view of attacks by security forces during religious events.

However, they called on members to be peaceful and to visit each other and extend the friendship to all Muslims irrespective of denomination in order to promote Islamic unity. Members who survived attacks from security forces also attended this occasion.

Members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria here said violence, like killing of their members will never stop them from practicing Islam. They said martyrs of the Islamic Movement will continue to be remembered with fondness and kind memories.
