As the investigative report of Afghanistan's Independent Human Rights Commission states, civilians and non military government employees are still being killed or wounded despite a peace deal between the US and the Taliban militant group back on February 29th.

The rights body blames the Taliban for the kidnapping of at least 35 civilians. It says the militant group is accountable for 50 percent of the killings and kidnappings while Daesh terrorists and unidentified armed men are responsible for the rest of the cases. The independent human rights group expects the US to put pressure on the Taliban to stop targeting people and civilian employees of the government.

The US has so for turned a blind eye on Taliban’s post-peace deal violence in Afghanistan. In the meantime the Afghan government emphasizes that it’s ready for bringing peace and security to the country, but, according to Afghan officials, it is Taliban militants who insist on unacceptable demands that disrupts intra-Afghan talks.

As attacks and bombings by the Taliban are on the rise, local Afghans want their leaders to set aside their differences and pay attention to key issues such as convincing the Taliban to lay down their arms and sit down for talks for lasting peace in the country.
