Palestinian protesters in the Gaza Strip attended the Great March of Return rallies in the east of the blockaded territory for the 71st Friday.

Israeli forces shot and injured scores of the demonstrators by firing live ammunition, rubber bullets and teargas.

The weekly event started following the Friday prayers with the focus on Jerusalem Al-Quds and the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in the occupied city.

In recent days, Israeli forces and settlers have desecrated the Al-Aqsa Mosque and attacked Muslim worshipers in the Holy Shrine.

Hamas Political Bureau Chief Ismail Haniyeh warned the Israeli regime against further violating the sanctity of the AL-Aqsa Mosque.

During the peaceful event, protesters slammed the normalization of ties between some Arab countries in the Persian Gulf region and the Israeli regime.

Since the start of the weekly peaceful protests in late March 2018, Israeli forces have killed hundreds of protesters and injured thousands including women ,children, journalists and paramedics.

Palestinians continue their peaceful rallies against the Israeli regime, calling on all Muslims to support Jerusalem Al-Quds and protect the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
