Journalist and political commentator Richard Silverstein says US President Donald Trump bases his policies on anger and jealousy toward his perceived rivals, prominently his predecessor, former president Barack Obama.

“Barack Obama was one of the most popular presidents in the last 20 or 30 years, and everything that Obama did, Trump would like to undo,” Silverstein said.

“Trump is one of the least popular presidents, perhaps ever in the history of the country, and so anyone who makes him look bad, he wants to cut [him] down to size,” Silverstein added.
