Brazil have won the continental crown for the 9th time in their history after defeating Peru 3-1, in the 2019 Copa America final showdown.

The hosts got on the scoresheet after just 15 minutes, when Gabriel Jesus dribbled past two defenders to place a pin-point cross for the unmarked Everton who delivered from close range.

Peru got back in the game, when the referee called for a handball in the box and rewarded them a penalty-kick, which was buried by Paolo Guerrero.

But the joy was short-lived as Gabriel Jesus restored the lead just moments later.

The match was in its dying moments, when Peruvian defenders brought down Everton in the box and the Referee once again showed the penalty-spot. Richarlison stepped up and scored the spot-kick to seal the victory and the championship for the Selecao.
