The majority of Americans do not trust US President Donald Trump and see him as dishonest, a new poll shows.

According to the latest results published by SurveyMonkey tracking poll cited in The Hill on Thursday only 13 percent of Americans regard Trump as an honest person.

The article says Trump's honesty and trustworthiness score had dropped three points since SurveyMonkey started conducting the survey in February of 2017.

The Americans lack of trust in the president truthfulness comes as the public remains highly suspicious about Trump’s links to an adult movie actress Stormy Daniels.

Trump’s personal attorney Michael Cohen paid $130,000 to the porn star to allegedly keep quiet about the extramarital affair between the president and stormy.

Trump is also dealing with the continuing federal probe into alleged ties between the Trump campaign and Russian election meddling.

In the meantime, Surveymonkey claimed that the polls indicated that Trump’s popularity rate had improved.

A booming US economy and talks of peace with North Korea were attributed to the increase in Trump's popularity ratings.

Trump and his claque have persuaded the public into buying the idea that he "can get things done", according to the group who conveyed the poll.

For the poll, Surveymonkey interviewed nearly a million people in all 50 US states.
