Iran sitting volleyball team defeats Russia in scrimmage
Russia men's national sitting volleyball team has slumped to a defeat against Iran in a preparation match for the 2017 ParaVolley Europe Sitting Volleyball Championships.
On Sunday, the Iranian outfit defeated the Russian side 115-97 at the end of a fixture staged in the Iranian capital city of Tehran.
The Iranian sitting volleyball players sank their Russian counterparts in four straight sets (25-23, 25-18, 25-20 and 25-21).
The Persians, however, conceded the last set 13-15 to the Russians.
The 2017 ParaVolley Europe Sitting Volleyball Championships for Men and Women will take place in Poreč, Croatia, from November 4 to November 12.
The Championship will qualify teams to the 2018 World ParaVolley Sitting Volleyball World Championships in the Netherlands.
