Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning has bid an emotional farewell to the NFL, putting an end to a sparkling 18-year career in the sport.
Manning announced his retirement at a media conference in Denver during which he struggled to hold back his tears. In his last game, Manning helped the Broncos win the Super Bowl in February.
The 39-year-old also helped the Indianapolis Colts win their first Super Bowl in 36 years back in 2007.
He’s also the only person who has won the league's Most Valuable Player award five times.
