Iran has mastered the art of seeing through US games: Parliament speaker
Iran's Parliament speaker said the US military build-up in the region proves Washington does not seek de-escalation despite its stated desire to end the war, adding that Tehran has become adept at seeing through such tactics.
Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf made the remarks in an X post on Monday, after US Secretary of State Marco Rubio alleged that his country remains open to a diplomatic solution with Iran following deadly aerial assaults by the terrorist American military against the Islamic Republic.
“Americans keep bringing new military equipment to the region and claim they want to stop the war. They have bet on our intelligence being as low as their own IQ,” Qalibaf said.
“We have reached the stage of mastery in recognizing these American games, and on that basis, we have prepared ourselves. Actions must substantiate claims, not contradict them.”
For nine consecutive nights, the US military has conducted waves of destructive strikes on Iran and reinstated a blockade of Iranian ports in flagrant violation of a war-termination deal. It has committed war crimes by deliberately targeting civilian facilities and killing dozens of people.
In response, Iranian armed forces have launched heavy reprisal attacks against strategic American targets across West Asia.
The United States and the Israeli regime waged their illegal war of aggression against Iran on February 28. However, forty days later, on April 8, the enemies were forced to accept a ceasefire amid Iran’s brave resistance, successful retaliatory operations, and powerful grip on the Strait of Hormuz.
On June 17, Tehran and Washington signed the Pakistan-brokered Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which included a commitment from both sides to negotiate a final deal within 60 days.
Washington violated all provisions of the understanding, prompting Iran to deliver a firm response and declare the Strait of Hormuz closed again at least until “the end of US interference in the region.”
