The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas has cautioned against Israeli claims regarding the group’s swift military expansion, labeling them as “obvious incitement” aimed at justifying continuous assaults and daily breaches of the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qassem, in a statement released on Sunday, urged media organizations to authenticate information obtained from the Tel Aviv regime, warning against discourse that provokes hostility towards the Palestinian resistance factions and the civilian population in Gaza.

Qassem emphasized that Hamas, together with other resistance groups in Gaza, is entirely dedicated to the ceasefire agreement, appealing to mediators and sponsoring countries to ensure that Israel adheres to its obligations and puts an end to its violations.

According to a report from Israel’s Channel 12, Israeli officials anticipate that hostilities in Gaza may recommence within the next two months, possibly prior to the legislative elections in October.

The broadcaster, citing Israeli authorities, said on Saturday that the Tel Aviv regime is expecting the so-called US-led Board of Peace to reach a conclusion in the next two to three months that Hamas has breached the agreement by declining to disarm.

Such a decision could allow Israel to initiate new raids in regions of Gaza that it does not presently oversee, increasing the likelihood of renewed fighting, the report said.

Channel 12 also cited a political source as saying that the board’s director-general, Nikolay Mladenov, had contemplated declaring Hamas in violation of the agreement two months ago, but delayed the action at the behest of mediators.

“If nothing changes within three months, Mladenov will declare Hamas in breach of the agreement,” the unnamed source was quoted as saying.

Despite a ceasefire that went into force on October 10, 2025, the Israeli military has continued to conduct daily assaults throughout the Gaza Strip.

As reported by Gaza’s Health Ministry, Israeli assaults have killed 1,066 individuals and left 3,445 others injured since the ceasefire’s implementation date.

According to local estimates, Israel has extended its occupation to approximately 70% of Gaza’s territory, leaving Palestinians with less than 30% of the strip.

The genocidal war initiated by Israel against Gaza on October 7, 2023, with support from the United States, has resulted in the destruction of almost 90% of the civilian infrastructure in the region and has killed over 73,000 Palestinians.
