Iran’s Armed Forces ready to defend national security: Top commander

Commander of Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters Major General Ali Abdollahi

The commander of Iran's Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters has reaffirmed the armed forces' readiness to cooperate with Iran's judiciary to defend national security, combat organized crime, and support the rule of law.

Major General Ali Abdollahi made the remarks in a message marking Iran's Judiciary Week on Saturday, as he congratulated Judiciary Chief Gholam-Hossein Mohseni Eje’i and praised the judiciary's role in safeguarding justice and legal order.

Abdollahi described the armed forces as fully prepared to provide any necessary cooperation, coordination, and support within the framework of their legal responsibilities to help establish justice, protect the rights of the people, counter organized threats and corruption, and reinforce the country's lasting security and national authority.

The commander also commemorated the anniversary of the July 7, 1981, bombing, in which Ayatollah Mohammad Hosseini Beheshti and 72 senior officials of the Islamic Republic were martyred.

He described the attack as a terrorist act carried out by the Mujahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO), saying the victims had sacrificed their lives in defense of justice, the rule of law, and the values of the Islamic Revolution.

Abdollahi further noted that Judiciary Week serves as an opportunity to recognize the judiciary's contributions to protecting citizens' legal rights, expanding justice, preserving legal security, and safeguarding what he described as the social capital of the Islamic Republic.

He also said the judiciary plays an increasingly strategic role at a time when Iran faces complex hybrid, cognitive, economic, and media warfare by its adversaries.

"The judiciary's efforts to combat corruption, protect public rights, ensure the implementation of the law, and strengthen public trust are essential to enhancing national authority and advancing the country's broader objectives," Abdollahi said.

The senior commander further stated that achieving justice—one of the core principles of the Islamic Revolution—would contribute to greater social cohesion, stronger national unity, and improved governance.

He added that the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters and the broader Iranian Armed Forces remain committed to cooperating with all branches of government to achieve the country's national goals.

Such cooperation, he said, includes supporting efforts aimed at establishing justice, protecting the rights of the nation, combating organized threats and corruption, and reinforcing sustainable national security.

Concluding his message, Abdollahi wished continued success for Eje’i and members of the judicial system in carrying out their important national responsibilities under the leadership of the Islamic Republic.
