Israeli forces and settlers have escalated their attacks against Palestinians across the occupied West Bank, with several incidents occurring overnight and into Saturday.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health said a shooting occurred on Saturday in the city of al-Khalil, during which an infant died later from wounds sustained in the attack.

Elsewhere, in the occupied West Bank, Israeli settlers assaulted and abducted a group of Palestinian farmers in the village of Atuf, southeast of Tubas.

A local official said the attackers were wearing Israeli military uniforms.

In Deir Dibwan, east of Ramallah, Israeli forces entered a Palestinian home as residents confronted settlers who were attempting to force their way into the property.

According to local accounts, soldiers confined residents to a single room and ordered them to remove cameras that were recording the raid.

A report issued by Palestine’s Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission (CWRC) described 2025 as a “year of bloodshed” in the occupied West Bank, documenting more than 23,800 attacks by Israeli forces and settlers against Palestinians.

The report said the attacks targeted Palestinians, their homes, agricultural land, and other property, with Israeli forces responsible for the majority of recorded incidents.

It also documented the destruction or uprooting of nearly 35,000 trees and said settlers caused hundreds of fires and extensive property damage across the occupied territory.

According to the commission, Israeli settlement expansion and land theft accelerated throughout 2025, while large-scale military attacks led to the displacement of thousands of Palestinians from several refugee camps.

In early 2026, Israel's spy agency, the Shin Bet, reclassified settler attacks against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank from “terror attacks” to “serious incidents.”

The move has narrowed the definition of terrorism and reduced the priority given to investigations into settler violence.

Since October 7, 2023, when Israel launched its genocidal war on Gaza, Israeli forces and settlers have killed at least 1,155 Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, wounded around 11,750 others, and abducted approximately 22,000 people, according to official Palestinian figures.
