An investigation has confirmed that the United States is responsible for the Minab school massacre in Iran that claimed the lives of more than 170 children, with a congresswoman demanding the impeachment of US President Donald Trump for “war crimes.”

On the first day of the ongoing US-Israeli war against Iran on February 28, the Shajareh Tayyebeh elementary school in Minab, a southern town in Iran, was pounded by a missile attack, killing at least 175 people, mostly children.

Despite the fact that the barbaric aggression had all the hallmarks of a terrorist attack by the US military, Washington strongly rejected any involvement in the deadly airstrike and even Trump, in a desperate attempt to sidestep the blame for the strike, falsely accused Tehran of launching the attack.

However, The New York Times, citing an ongoing military investigation, reported on Wednesday that the sole perpetrator behind the tragic incident was the US military, which pounded the ill-fated school – packed with children – in a Tomahawk missile strike.

“Striking a school full of children is sure to be recorded as one of the most devastating single military errors in recent decades,” the NYT lamented.

The report also stressed that “While the overall finding was largely expected – the United States is the only country involved in the conflict that uses Tomahawk missiles – it has already cast a shadow on the US [war] in Iran.”

Meanwhile, Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib demanded the immediate impeachment of Trump for “war crimes.”

“After lying about it, the Trump Administration confirmed that they bombed a school in Iran—killing 175 people, mostly girls. Trump should be impeached. Hegseth should be fired. And the administration must be held accountable in international courts for their heinous war crimes,” she said on X.

The US-Israeli war on the Islamic Republic has so far killed more than 1,300 civilians, including children, and attacked non-military sites, among them schools and hospitals.

In response to the unprovoked war, Iran has attacked the Israeli regime and US military assets in regional countries, with the latter deeply affecting the production and transport of oil and natural gas in the region.
