Indirect Iran-US talks
The Iranian foreign minister says Israel is trying to drag the United States into a war with Iran. Abbas Araghchi warned that any US military action against Iran would be unfortunate and run counter to American interests. Abbas Araghchi made the remarks in an interview with India Today television channel. He said Israel seeks to draw the US into a war with Iran because it cannot confront the Islamic Republic on its own. Araghchi warned that Israel’s ‘disastrous’ plot is aimed at cementing its regional hegemony, vowing that the plot will not succeed. His comments came on the eve of the third round of indirect nuclear talks between Tehran and Washington. Araghchi stressed that a fair, balanced, and equitable agreement is within reach, adding that previous negotiations proved a diplomatic settlement remains possible. He reiterated that Iran is ready to address any concerns about its nuclear program, but will never relinquish its right to use the nuclear technology for peaceful purposes. Araghchi is now in the Swiss city of Geneva to take part in the new round of indirect talks with the US, which are scheduled for Thursday.
Yemen supporting Iran
Yemen’s Ansarullah movement has voiced its full support for Iran in the face of US military threats. A senior Ansarullah official told Press TV that Yemen will stand alongside Iran against any violation of its national sovereignty by the United States. He added that Yemen will respond to such hostile actions at an appropriate time and in the proper context.
Israel war on media
An international journalists’ rights group says a total of about one-hundred-30 journalists and media workers were killed worldwide in 2025, two-thirds of whom were killed by Israel. The Committee to Protect Journalists said in its report that more than 60 percent of the eighty-six members of the press killed by Israeli fire in 2025 were Palestinians reporting from Gaza. It added that a record number of media workers were killed worldwide in 2025, making it the second consecutive annual record for press deaths, and the deadliest year since the committee began collecting data more than three decades ago. According to the report, the number of journalists deliberately killed by Israeli forces exceeds what any other military force has ever committed. Since the Gaza genocide started, many rights reports have warned that Israeli forces target journalists based on the regime’s policy that sees Palestinian media as part of the “enemy.” They added that Israel treats journalists as witnesses whose voice must be silenced, not as civilians protected under international law.
