Iran Armed Forces Vigilance

The general staff of the Iranian armed forces has warned of a large-scale and crushing response to any threat, amid saber rattling by the US and its military buildup near the country’s borders. The warning was issued in a statement on the 47th anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran. In the statement, the general staff said Iran has time and again showed that it powerfully protects its interests and will never back down on its ideals in the face of pressure. The top armed forces body also touched upon the history of terrorist acts, sanctions and warmongering, especially by the US and Israel, against Iran. The authority said enemies faced a more powerful Iran, as they ratcheted up their pressure over the past 47 years. The general staff called on Iranians to once again frustrate enemies by their participation in Wednesday rallies to mark the anniversary of the Islamic revolution.

Iran-US nuclear talk

Iran’s foreign ministry spokesman has called on the United States NOT to be influenced by the Israeli pressure and doesn’t allow Tel Aviv to make decision for its foreign policy. This comes as Tehran and Washington held nuclear talks in the Omani capital on Friday. Regarding the Muscat meetings, Baqaei said Iran entered the talks with a result-oriented approach, adding that Tehran has shown its seriousness to reach an agreement. He said in any negotiation, the Iranian nation’s rights and interests should be preserved based on International law. Baqaei said Iran entered the negotiations with taking into consideration its experiences from the previous ones in June. That was in reference to US-Israeli aggression against Iran, while Tehran and Washington were engaged in talks. Also regarding the recent US sanctions against Iran, the spokesperson said Washington is addicted to exerting pressure on nations through economic leverage. Baqaei, however, said history has shown that pressures have NO effect when it comes to Iran.

US deadly pacific strikes

The US military says it has killed two people in an airstrike on a boat in the eastern Pacific, in the latest such incident in recent months. The US military has released footage that alleges to show the attack. The military’s southern command claimed the targets were narco-traffickers. Since September, the US has carried out dozens of similar strikes in Latin American waters, killing at least 130 people so far. Washington claims the attacks are aimed at drug traffickers in the region. But the Trump administration has failed to offer conclusive evidence establishing the claim.
