Epstein files falllout

A widening scandal linked to the notorious US sex offender, Jeffrey Epstein, is sweeping across Europe. A growing number of European officials are forced to resign as their past connections with Epstein come under intense scrutiny. In the latest case, Norway’s ambassador to Jordan and Iraq has resigned after an investigation was launched into her alleged ties to Epstein. Norwegian media reported that Epstein, who died in 2019, left ten million dollars in his will to Mona Juul’s two children. The senior diplomat played a key role in the secret Israeli-Palestinian negotiations, which led to the so-called Oslo Accords in the early 19-90s. She is among several high-profile Norwegian figures named in the latest release of Epstein-related files, including the World Economic Forum’s CEO, as well as Norway’s former prime minister, and the Crown Princess. Earlier, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s chief of staff, Morgan McSweeney, resigned amid mounting pressure over his role in appointing Peter Mandelson, a former friend of Epstein, as the UK's ambassador to the United States.
