Demanding Maduro release

Thousands of Venezuelans have marched through the capital, Caracas, demanding the release of President Nicolas Maduro and his wife from US custody.
Protesters displayed images of Maduro, slamming what they called the empire’s kidnapping of their president. They also denounced the US aggression against Venezuela on January third that was coupled with the abduction of Maduro and his wife. The son of the kidnapped President delivered a speech during the rally, saying the people of Venezuela have achieved a profound anti-imperialist consciousness. He also described the US attack as a desecration of their homeland. The President and his wife are being held in a federal prison in New York, awaiting their next court hearing in March on drug-trafficking charges. Maduro, however, has denied any wrongdoing. Since January third, numerous rallies have been held in Venezuela and other countries, including in Latin America, in support of the abducted couple.
