Israel Gaza truce violations
Israel’s violations of the Gaza ceasefire agreement continue unabated, claiming the lives of more civilians, mostly women and children, across the Palestinian territory. A Palestinian woman was killed, and three others were wounded after an Israeli drone attack in the Tuffah neighborhood, northeast of Gaza City. Three more civilians were killed by Israeli shelling and gunfire east of Gaza City. Two Palestinians were also killed in an Israeli airstrike on the same neighborhood. The new fatalities came after earlier, three women from the same family were killed, and two others went missing following the collapse of a house in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood of Gaza City. According to local officials, dozens of houses have collapsed in recent days due to direct damage from continuous Israeli shelling, as well as heavy rains and subsequent flooding. The new deaths have increased the number of civilians killed in Gaza following the enforcement of the ceasefire to more than four-hundred.
US abetting Israeli crimes
An international human rights organization has slammed the United States’ all-out support for Israel, saying it enables the regime to continue its genocide against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor said Washington’s political cover for Tel Aviv enables it to perpetuate the status quo in the war-torn territory. It added that the US has linked progress on the ceasefire to the recovery of the last body of Israeli captives. The monitor condemned the move as “shameful complicity” in Israel’s ongoing ceasefire violations, the siege of civilians, and their displacement. It stressed that the continuation of this situation means a "slow death" for the residents of Gaza, given the catastrophic humanitarian conditions and the onset of winter. The monitor said the fate of over two million people in Gaza should not be held hostage to political or battlefield conditions that are difficult to meet. It added that Israel is exploiting the current situation to continue implementing its policies and consolidating its military control over more than 53 percent of Gaza after its near-total destruction.
Malnutrition in Gaza
The World Health Organization has sounded a serious alarm over malnutrition in Gaza despite the ceasefire. WHO warned that thousands of women and children remain deprived of food and essential supplies across the war-torn territory. The world body said more than 100,000 children and 37,000 pregnant and breastfeeding women in Gaza are projected to suffer from acute malnutrition through April 2026. It added that progress in combating famine remains extremely fragile, as the population continues to face severe restrictions, including constraints on humanitarian operations. WHO further noted that only half of Gaza’s health facilities are partially functional, and they face critical shortages of supplies and equipment. It called for the urgent and expedited approval and entry of essential medical supplies, warning that if humanitarian assistance is halted, Gaza could face a risk of famine by mid-April 2026.
