World Weightlifting Championships: Iranian duo win gold, silver in 94kg snatch

Iranian weightlifters Alireza Moeini and Ali Alipour have claimed gold and silver medals respectively in the 94-kilogram snatch event at the 90th IWF World Weightlifting Championships in Forde, Norway.

Moeini lifted 174 kg, 179 kg, and 182 kg, setting a new world record and securing the gold medal in the snatch category on Thursday. Alipour, after failing his first attempt at 171 kg, succeeded with lifts of 172 kg and 176 kg to earn the silver medal.

The competition featured six athletes from Iran, Egypt, Bulgaria, Kosovo, and Germany. Notably, Kianoush Rostami, representing Kosovo, placed fifth with a lift of 172 kg.
