US-Israeli genocide in Gaza
The Israeli military has killed more Palestinians in Gaza as the genocidal war continues unabated. Seventeen Palestinians were killed by Israeli airstrikes and gunfire since the early hours of Thursday. In their latest attack in Khan Yunis, four Palestinians were killed and many others wounded when Israeli warplanes struck a home near the Jordanian field hospital west of the city. Additionally, a civilian was killed east of Khan Yunis a targeted strike by an Israeli drone. The Israeli military’s air and artillery bombardments have also impacted the southern regions of Gaza City, which continues to endure intense military operations. The death toll from the US-Israeli genocide since October 2023 has exceeded 65,400, with over 170,000 others injured.
Israeli fatalities in Gaza
Fatalities among Israeli military forces in the Gaza Strip continue to increase as another soldier has been killed in intense clashes with Palestinian resistance groups. According to the Israeli occupation forces, the slain soldier was identified as a Staff Sergeant and was fatally shot by a Hamas sniper in Gaza City. This incident follows the death of another Israeli officer earlier this week, who was killed when Hamas operatives launched a retaliatory rocket attack against an Israeli tank in Gaza City. According to the Israeli military, more than 900 soldiers have been killed since the commencement of the regime’s genocidal war on Gaza in 2023. The figures include more than 460 fatalities since the initiation of the ground offensive. Many observers suggest that the actual number of the Israeli troop fatalities exceed the figures officially disclosed.
Gaza humanitarian flotilla
Italy’s defense minister has issued a stern warning over the safety of the Gaza-bound Global Sumud Flotilla, characterizing the situation as highly alarming amid escalating tensions in the eastern Mediterranean region. Crosetto strongly condemned the attacks on civilian vessels in international waters, calling them violations of international law. He said Italy has already deployed a naval vessel, with an additional ship en route, both equipped with enhanced operational capabilities. It was the first direct intervention by a European government to safeguard humanitarian vessels attempting to break Israel’s blockade of Gaza. It followed a series of Israeli drone strikes on aid-carrying vessels off the coast of Greece, marking the third such incident on Tuesday evening. Spain has likewise dispatched a warship to ensure the protection of the mission. The Global Sumud Flotilla comprises some 50 civilian boats carrying nationals from 45 countries.
