US-Israeli genocide in Gaza

Israeli warplanes continue to target residential areas across the Gaza Strip, claiming more civilian lives. Over 60 Palestinians have been killed in attacks across the besieged territory since dawn. Five of them were aid seekers targeted in central and southern Gaza. One of the latest strikes hit the displaced Palestinians’ tents in Khan Yunis, killing a woman and her four children. Five Palestinians were also killed and several others injured when a residential neighborhood in the Northern parts of Gaza City was bombed. Apart from casualties caused by relentless bombardment, a five-month-old girl died in Khan Yunis due to starvation. The death toll from the US-Israeli genocide since October 2023 has topped 62,200, with more than 157,300 others injured.

Gaza famine

The United Nations has officially declared a famine in Gaza, with its aid chief saying the famine could have been prevented, criticizing Israel for systematic obstruction of aid deliveries. The UN official made the comments in a press briefing held in Geneva. Fletcher slammed Israeli leaders for promoting the Gaza famine as a weapon of war, saying the situation in the Palestinian territory should "haunt us all". The UN aid chief demanded a ceasefire and called for all Gaza crossings to be opened for the unimpeded supply of humanitarian aid. Minutes after the Gaza famine was declared, UN rights chief Volker Turk underlined that it was a war crime to use starvation as a method of war. Turk added that the resulting deaths may also amount to the war crime of willful killing.

Iran army vigilance

Iran’s Army has issued a warning to any possible act of aggression against the country, saying it will deliver a more crushing response to any malicious aggressor. Army Chief, Major General Amir Hatami, said the Army’s response will make the aggressors regret their acts. He issued the warning in a message to congratulate the country’s “Defense Industry Day”. Hatami pointed to the 12-day imposed war on Iran in June, saying the country emerged victorious and the enemy failed to achieve its vicious goals. The Iranian Army Chief added that the victory was obtained thanks to the nation’s unity and resistance, sacrifices of the armed forces, and the wise guidance of the leader of the Islamic Revolution during the war.
