Israel Gaza onslaught

Israeli forces continue their relentless assault on Gaza, causing more loss of life and widespread destruction across the aid-deprived territory. Since dawn, at least 65 Palestinians have been killed, including 25 who were waiting for humanitarian aid. In northern Gaza, Israeli bombardment intensified, killing at least seven people after targeting aid protection groups in the Saftawi area. In the southern city of Khan Younis, a drone strike claimed the lives of two people. Three civilians were also killed in an attack on the Al-Tuffah neighborhood in eastern Gaza City. Israel’s genocidal war, which began in October 2023, has so far killed over 61,700 Palestinians.

Iran regional diplomacy  

The Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council has underlined that the Islamic Republic attaches importance to Lebanon’s unity, describing relations with the Arab country as very close. In a press conference in Beirut, Ali Larijani described the Lebanese resistance as a national asset. Earlier, he met with Lebanese president Joseph Aoun where he emphasized that Iran does not interfere in Lebanese decision-making, and that foreign countries should not give orders to Lebanon. Larijani also held a separate meeting with Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri. He said Tehran respects any decision taken by the Lebanese government in consultation with the resistance. Larijani landed in Beirut while a group of Lebanese people, waving Hezbollah flags, gave him a welcome near the city’s airport.

Talks on Ukraine war

European leaders hold talks with the US President to coordinate their position on Ukraine ahead of Donald Trump's planned negotiations with his Russian counterpart on Friday. The German chancellor made the remarks during a press conference with the Ukrainian president in Berlin.  Volodymyr Zelenskyy, for his part, reiterated that Ukraine must be included in any peace negotiations regarding the ongoing war with Russia. European officials have cautioned the US against making concessions to Russia, emphasizing that Ukraine's territorial integrity must not be altered by force. French President Emmanuel Macron noted Trump was 'very clear' about Washington's goal to secure a ceasefire during the upcoming Alaska meeting with Vladimir Putin.
