Yemen supports Gaza
The Yemeni armed forces have carried out another anti-Israel operation, targeting Ben Gurion Airport in the occupied territories with a Palestine-2 hypersonic ballistic missile. In a statement, the army says the operation successfully achieved its goal and halted the airport’s operations.
Pro-Palestine rallies
Israel is facing a global outcry as images of emaciated children in a Gaza Strip, flattened by nearly 22 months of aggression, go viral around the world. People rallied in the Lebanese capital Beirut to show solidarity with Gazans. The protesters slammed the Israeli policy of starvation in Gaza as morally unacceptable. In Cape Town, South African demonstrators banged cooking pots and waved Palestinian flags to call attention to the starvation in Gaza. They denounced the regime’s genocide in Gaza and slammed Western governments for enabling the crimes. The protesters also criticized proposals for Palestinian statehood for being conditional and ineffective. Cities across Britain also saw similar pro-Gaza rallies where participants demanded an end to the arming of Israel.
US-Russia tensions
US President Donald Trump has deployed two nuclear submarines in response to recent social media posts by Deputy Chairman of Russia’s Security Council Dmitry Medvedev, raising tensions between Washington and Moscow. Trump called Medvedev’s statements highly provocative. The former Russian president had reacted to Trump’s sanctions threats if Moscow failed to reach a ceasefire agreement with Ukraine. The move follows Trump’s ultimatum to President Putin, setting August 8 as a deadline to end the war, a demand the Kremlin has so far ignored. Medvedev has accused Trump of playing what he called “the ultimatum game with Russia,” warning that such steps bring both nations closer to direct confrontation. Earlier this month, he dismissed Trump’s threats as theatrical, saying Russia was unfazed. The US and Russia hold the world's largest nuclear arsenals, including advanced fleets of nuclear submarines.
