Iran slams EU stance
Tehran says a new round of negotiations between Iran and the three European countries on the country’s nuclear program will be held this Friday in Turkey. Foreign ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei stated that the discussions with France, Germany, and the UK as signatories of the 2015 nuclear deal, will center on nuclear issue and sanctions relief. He strongly rejected any invocation of the so-called "snapback mechanism," calling it baseless, unlawful, and unjustified. According to Baghaei, should such a measure be pursued, it would signify that these nations have forfeited any constructive role in the negotiation process. He emphasized that Iran’s scaled-back compliance with the JCPOA stems from provisions clearly outlined within the deal. More concerning, he added, is the European Trio’s silence in the wake of recent military aggression by the Zionist regime against Tehran.
US-Israeli Gaza genocide
Gaza is witnessing yet another day of deadly Israeli attacks and updates are coming in by the hour. Israeli air strikes and shelling has killed at least 17 people in the past few hours. They were killed in airstrikes and shelling including on an area west of Khan Yunis and in central Gaza. This comes a day after Israel killed 115 Palestinians including 92 civilians who were trying to access humanitarian aid. Aid distribution centers have become death traps as nearly one-thousand Gazans have been killed there by Israeli live fire in recent weeks. The World Food Program has called the Sunday shooting at its convoy at Zikim crossing a terrible incident, where Israeli gunfire and tanks targeted people trying to access food for their starving family members. This comes as Gaza’s health ministry says malnutrition has taken the lives of 19 people in the past 24 hours.
Syria violence
Syria says it has evacuated hundreds of Arab Bedouin families from the city of Sweida following days of clashes between factions close to the HTS-led regime and Druze fighters. The Syrian Red Crescent has moved 1500 Bedouin families from the Druze majority city of Sweida as sporadic violence continues in and around the city. The evacuees, who are mostly women and children, will be moved to neighboring Daraa and the capital Damascus. More than 1000 people have been killed in just over a week after ethnic violence broke out between HTS fighters, Bedouin tribes and Druze community. The Israeli regime claiming support for the Druze carried out multiple airstrikes on Syria. The US and Turkey have announced a ceasefire even as sporadic violence continues.
