US-Israeli genocide in Gaza

Gaza has witnessed yet another deadly day as Israeli forces continue their relentless bombardment of the besieged territory. The latest attacks targeted Gaza City, Beit Lahia and Khan Yunis. Several people were killed in an attack on Jabalia. The Gaza Health Ministry says over 60 Palestinians lost their lives on Thursday alone. This includes 20 people who were waiting for humanitarian aid at Netzarim corridor. Since the beginning of Israel’s genocide in October 2023, more than 57,000 Palestinians have been killed, and over 134,600 others injured. Most of the casualties are women and children.

US House approves Trump's bill

The US House of Representatives has voted to advance President Donald Trump’s signature tax and spending bill. The legislative body voted 219 to 213 in favor of the measure in a last-minute session. Following the vote, the House began a final debate on the floor. The debate will be followed by a final vote on the bill. Earlier, a number of Republican lawmakers who were against the bill spoke to Trump. The Republicans have the majority in the Congress. The bill ground through the Senate earlier this week in another overnight session. Critics say the bill adds trillions of dollars to the US national debt and make cuts to social safety-net programs like Medicaid.

Serbia unrest

Serbian police clash with anti-government protesters demanding early elections and an end to President Aleksandar Vucic’s 12-year rule. Demonstrators hurled furniture, bins, and other objects, prompting a forceful police response. Protesters accuse Vucic and his allies of corruption, ties to organized crime, suppressing media freedom, and violent tactics against opponents, all of which the government denies. The president has blamed foreign intelligence agencies for fueling the unrest. The protests began last December after 16 people died in the collapse of the Novi Sad railway station roof, a tragedy demonstrators link to government corruption.
