Netanyahu will go, but Iran will remain, says former Russian president
Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has said that if the international community is truly committed to nuclear non-proliferation, it must begin by addressing the issue of the Israeli regime's clandestine nuclear program.
His remarks, made on Saturday, came amid ongoing Israeli aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran and reports of possible US military involvement in the war.
Referring to the international community's double standards, Medvedev criticized the leniency toward Israel’s undeclared nuclear arsenal, contrasted with constant pressure on Iran’s peaceful nuclear activities.
“No attack will ever be able to eliminate Iran’s nuclear program entirely,” Medvedev stated. “Netanyahu will go one day, but Iran will remain.”
Medvedev currently serves as deputy chairman of Russia’s Security Council and is a close ally of President Vladimir Putin.

Iran’s nuclear energy program has long been used by Western powers, particularly the United States and European countries, as a pretext for political and economic pressure, accusing Tehran of pursuing nuclear weapons without any evidence.
Tehran has consistently maintained that its nuclear program is peaceful, with uranium enrichment being an irreversible right despite growing calls to dismantle it.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian reaffirmed this position in a phone call with French President Emmanuel Macron on Saturday.
The latest Israeli aggression on Iran, supported by the United States, came only days after a politically-motivated anti-Iran resolution passed by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), pushed by UK, France, Germany and endorsed by the US.
Earlier on Saturday, President Putin also reiterated Russia’s support for Iran’s right to develop and use nuclear energy for peaceful purposes.
In an interview with Sky News Arabia, he said that Moscow remains committed to assisting Iran in this domain.
