US deceptive view

A meeting on Tehran’s nuclear program will be held on Friday between Iran and the three European members of the 2015 nuclear deal, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, the JCPOA. That’s according to Iran’s foreign ministry spokesman. Esmaeil Baghaei said the Turkish city of Istanbul will host the meeting between representatives of Iran, the UK, France and Germany. Baghaei added that the indirect talks between Tehran and Washington are also part of the agenda of the meeting. The Islamic Republic and the three European countries, known as the European Troika, have so far held a number of talks on Iran’s nuclear program since Washington’s unilateral withdrawal from the JCPOA in 2018.

US-Israel Gaza genocide

Wednesday has been another bloody day for Palestinians in Gaza as the Israeli military presses ahead with its unrelenting attacks across the blockaded territory. At least 80 Palestinians have been killed since dawn, nearly 60 of them in northern Gaza. In Jabalia, more than 50 people, mostly women and children, were slaughtered in a series of Israeli strikes. To the south, several people were killed after Israeli drones struck tents of displaced Palestinians in Al-Mawasi refugee camp, west of Khan Yunis. An Israeli airstrike targeting the Al-Fakhari neighborhood east of Khan Yunis left several people dead and many others injured. On Tuesday, Israeli warplanes bombed the vicinity of the European hospital, killing nearly 30 people. Over 52,920 Palestinians have been killed in the Israeli genocide since October 2023. More than 119,800 others have been injured.

Marking Nakba Day

Palestinians across the occupied West Bank hold rallies to mark the Nakba Day, also known as Day of Catastrophe. In Ramallah, protesters called for an immediate end to the Israeli atrocities against Palestinians including the regime’s genocidal campaign against the people of Gaza. They demanded the return of all Palestinian refugees to their homes. The demonstrators also urged immediate end to the Western military and financial support to the regime in Tel Aviv. The Nakba day, which falls on May 15, commemorates the anniversary of the 1948 event that led to the permanent mass expulsion of Palestinians from their ancestral land.
