Jewish anti-Zionist group banned by London police

On any given Friday, you'd find them at their usual spot in the Swiss Cottage area of London. But today, members of IJAN, the International Jewish Anti-Zionist Network, have come together outside the Metropolitan Police Headquarters.

This Friday, just like any other Friday over the past year and a half, this protest would have been held near the residence of the Israeli ambassador, however, IJAN, the group that organises these demonstrations, has been banned by the Metropolitan Police, consequently they have gathered here today to demand what they are insist is a politically motivated ban on their protests be lifted.

We have had to come here to protest the ban of IJAN. IJAN has now been banned eight times in the last few months.

We are the most banned group in London because they don't want to hear from Jews who are opposed to this genocide.

They want to silence us anywhere we go.

Since October 2023, IJAN and their allies have been demanding, among other things, that the UK Government expel Israeli ambassador Tzipi Hotovely.

Well, there's no diplomacy in genocide. She's saying disgusting things about the Palestinian people.

She's denying it is genocide.

Can you believe a genocide denier?

The Met argue their decision had to do with public safety. The demonstrators assert it was politically motivated.

It is the instinct of the British police to attack, to deny the rights of the Jewish people and everybody else who oppose Zionism.

Long are gone the days where they were able to appeal to people and sell a narrative that, you know, somehow Europeans had a right to a land in Palestine well all that is gone.

As they make their way to join another Palestine Solidarity demonstration, members of the International Jewish anti-Zionist network, say they won't be silenced and vowed to keep on fighting.
